We would like to thank you for supporting Mary Chang in this year's competition. Your support enables our company to continue to contribute to Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors and make a difference in the lives of disabled veterans and their families.

What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

Encourage others striving to better their health & fitness to persevere, no matter what level they're at! In April during the start of the pandemic, I formed & led a Facebook fitness group of 21(now 33!) members to join me for free online monthly fitness challenges. We check in daily with our progress & cheer each other on. To date, some have exercised up to 110 (now 130+) consecutive days! Accountability, encouragement & laughter are motivators for our group - fun with Mary!

How does fitness positively influence your life?

I'm not extraordinary but in the realm of exercise, I pushed myself harder the past 19 months than any other period of my life, reviving my energy, confidence & inner strength. Proud to bare my bikini belly after toning my body (I lost 19 pounds), but more pride lies behind my decade-old emergency C-section scar. I found my shine & self-empowerment through SWEAT. Something about Mary? If I can do it, so can you. I mastered my first headstand at age 50; standing on my head sparks joy!

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

A vacation incorporating a group fitness challenge (climbing Machu Picchu, learning to surf or a yoga or meditation retreat). Exercise boosts my mental health, makes me grateful & enables me to help others. I love encouraging people to persevere with exercise. Members' feedback about how our FB group motivates them to continue, brightens my day. I’ll write an empowering story about our fitness adventure to inspire others to try, even if they're scared!
