I’m a strong, athletic, vivacious 53 year old mother of two adults. My motto is: NEVER CLOCK OUT!
Everyone is a beginner once. Be realistic about your goals. Don’t compare yourself to others. Ask for help. Eat unprocessed foods, get your rest. Speak lovingly to yourself. Repeat and stay consistent!
Fitness has long been my secret in looking and feeling young. Very early on, I used weights and running to clear my mind and bring mental clarity and peace into my life. Even in turmoil, I gained strength and pride in knowing what my body is capable of doing. I know my daughter is watching me because more is caught than taught. She is a collegiate athlete and I’m her biggest fan. Fitness is my therapy, and I’ve made some pretty awesome friends along the way, too!
If I was the next Ms. Health and Fitness, I’d donate some of the proceeds to Polished Pebbles, a girl’s mentoring program on the south side of Chicago. I’d also use some of the proceeds to assist two students with college scholarships at Kenwood Academy (my children’s alma mater). I want all children to know that they can fly!
