Ms. Health and Fitness and Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors would like to thank Whittney Mikkel and her voters for helping us donate to our injured United States military veterans!

What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

MOVE! A long-term sedentary lifestyle is detrimental to your physical and mental health. I learned this the hard way after spending years at my workstation (desk) producing music. And please don't forget about diet. Limit fast food and sugar, and learn to cook meals that you like!

How does fitness positively influence your life?

Fitness not only helps me look and feel better, but it gives me something to look forward to several times a week! Especially aerial arts classes. I'm 31 and I'm in better shape now than I was through all of my 20's, and I'm the strongest I have ever been in my life. I have built upper body strength I never thought I could attain, which makes daily activities easier. My confidence has also been given a huge boost and I find that the more I train, the more I like the way my body looks.

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

I would buy a thousand cats!!! Only kidding. I would save most of the 20k to put toward a down payment for a house (one with an extra room we could convert into a little fitness studio), and maybe put a little bit toward my upcoming wedding next year!
