What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

Start slow and make a commitment to learning what your body needs to be healthy and fit for a lifetime. Never seek quick fix fads. Be a work in progress!! Working with a fitness professional is a great way to learn how to use proper form when doing various exercises. Group fitness classes are also a great way to stay motivated with others aiming at similar health goals. With a consistent fitness regimen and gradually making nutritional adjustments, positive health changes are possible!

How does fitness positively influence your life?

Fitness is vital part of my life. When I discovered my athletic abilities I was well in my 20’s after the loss of a son and then the birth of my second who is now almost 19 years old. It’s been a journey of finding a strength beyond myself. From my 20’s into my 30’s and now my early 40’s I’ve encountered different aspects of fitness and have owned them with time. I incorporate pilates weight lifting and dance into my daily regimen.

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

I would invest $20,000 into my company The MARK Total Body Wellness Network, LLC’s first one stop wellness center in Columbus, Ohio with goals of expanding to Los Angeles. Imagine a place where you can train, order your meal preps and engage in workshops on nutrition, mental wellness and financial literacy. I am committed to the overall health and wellness of my community in Columbus, Ohio, our nation and the world at large.
