Recovering addict, fitness enthusiast, lover of God and people, Mother, Wife, Medical Assistant, aspiring Registered Nurse!
Ms. Health and Fitness and Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors would like to thank Vanessa Hawes and her voters for helping us donate to our injured United States military veterans!
I would tell anyone looking to start their fitness journey to become educated on nutrition, health, and exercise first and foremost. That is going to help you propel quickly so you can eat, sculpt and build, and recover appropriately. Find people who share similar goals and are motivated to make a change. Once you have the basics down it makes the transformation process that much easier!
Fitness helps me to stay focused in and out of the gym. I am a recovering addict and fitness has made the door to sobriety that much easier to open. I find myself building myself up instead of tearing myself down. Fitness gives me an outlet to express my frustrations in a way that feeds my body life, not a pathway to death and destruction of self.
I would put the majority away for my son’s college/future. Some would go to the gym in my community that encourages addicts to recover through fitness. The rest would go towards a down payment on studio space for my own safe haven/fitness center for those who want to change their physical appearance, learn to improve nutrition and diet, and transform their mentality!
