Ms. Health and Fitness and Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors would like to thank Stephanie Wood and her voters for helping us donate to our injured United States military veterans!

What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

Always remember it’s about baby steps, start by making small gradual changes to your daily habits, which will then in time turn into big results. Don’t ever think of yourself as being on a ‘diet’ instead see it as a lifestyle change, and remember Rome wasn’t built in a day. Stay patient, believe in yourself, believe you can, because I promise you, you will get there, and lastly be consistent because ultimately consistency is key.

How does fitness positively influence your life?

More than I could ever describe. For years I had such a negative body image. I jumped from one fad diet to another, I cried if the scales went up and I saw a completely different body reflecting back at me. Health and fitness isn’t all about appearances, it’s a release and a state of mind and all it takes is to NEVER give up on yourself, because no matter what, you can always make a positive difference to your health, your body but ultimately your life, just like I have.

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

I would put it towards following my dream of opening my own private studio. A place for women to come together, creating a community of strong females helping them not only achieve their goals, but change their life’s too.
