What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

The first thing I would tell someone who wants to be fit and healthy is to stop comparing themselves to others! A fitness journey is something that should be personalized and every experience will be different. I always ask how my clients feel when I train them. If they would like to lose weight or gain muscle that will happen as a byproduct, but I want their mentality to change so that fitness becomes a fun lifestyle change and not a temporary goal to be reached and forgotten about.

How does fitness positively influence your life?

I was pretty quiet in school, but when I joined track, I felt that I gained a stronger sense of self-worth and confidence. I met my best friends, got to run on a scholarship in college, and learned what it meant to take care of my mind- not just my body. College ended,but my love for fitness didn’t. I became a certified personal trainer and have worked with every type of client from novice to experienced. I love helping everyone discover something new and become the best versions of themse

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

I would pay off student loans first! I have also always wanted to travel abroad and volunteer- specifically for the Invisible Children program that addresses conflict in Uganda. I’d like to have a jumpstart to pay for continued education in the medical field. Becoming a Physician Assistant specializing in dermatology is a huge goal for me as I believe you should take care of all organs, muscles and tissues! Fitness happens to be a wonderful component of healthcare.
