Ms. Health and Fitness and Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors would like to thank Randi Otto and her voters for helping us donate to our injured United States military veterans!

What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

Start TODAY! Don't wait! Start with what you know and do some research on your own. Nutrition is the most important component and though it is not always easy, it IS totally worth it! Choose healthy eating as a lifestyle choice and not just a quick fix. Don't be afraid of the gym! At the gym, you will find people who are there for the same reasons that you are and that it is a community that supports one another in achieving goals.

How does fitness positively influence your life?

Eating healthy and staying active keeps my mind healthy! In the past I have struggled with anxiety, eating disorders, and depression. Since making fitness a priority my life has become full of love, happiness, and opportunities! Every day I wake up knowing that just by eating healthy foods and working up a sweat, I can live life to the fullest! I no longer wake up dreading the day to come. Now I wake up and say to myself, "It's a beautiful day to be alive!"

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

If I were the next Ms. Health and Fitness I would use the money towards becoming a personal trainer. I would also like to pursue studies in sports nutrition and exercise science. It would be a dream come true for me to have a career in the health and fitness industry and the assistance of this scholarship would help me achieve that goal. I want to share my passion for health and wellness because it has changed my life and set my soul on fire!
