Olivia Shields

I’m a passionate person with an open mind about the world. I want girls like me to embrace their flaws, because that is pure beauty❤️

Ms. Health and Fitness and Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors would like to thank Olivia Shields and her voters for helping us donate to our injured United States military veterans!

What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

Go into it with a positive mindset, don’t ever think you can’t do it because anyone is capable of achieving who they want to become. Keep thinking about your motivations and never lose them, write them down, list your motives. Understanding your worth and capability is essential to achieving anything. Us girls can break away from these societal body standards, once we start feeling good enough for ourselves- it is such a powerful thing to own who you are.

How does fitness positively influence your life?

Fitness helps me get out of my mind- after I workout I feel motivated, like I’m ready to take on the day. I feel so energized and radiated with positivity. Fitness has always been important to me, I grew up watching my mom and aunt workout together. My aunt would always tell me how important it was to take care of your body because it does so much to keep you healthy and alive.. She tragically passed away on my birthday a few years ago, and with hope, I want to achieve this for her.

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

Ever since I was a young girl I dreamt of being a model, I felt I could really express myself with what I wore. Today I still dream of having that kind of leadership role for young girls because I realized I had this special talent, a voice. A voice I never thought I had that I could use to help other girls. Girls always come to me asking for advice on self-acceptance and I feel that I need to do something. This money would go towards my goal to be a model, so I can show girls their worth too.
