Find a gym partner who motivates and holds you accountable for your progress. Set clear and achievable goals based on your body type. Being fit and healthy is a positive lifestyle change. It is not easy especially freezing cold days where the bed is more inviting than the gym, however, constant reminders of your fitness goals will get your mind right.
