Single working mom of 2 young kids, forever nerd, Kinesiologist and health coach, exercise and my kids are my life.
Ms. Health and Fitness and Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors would like to thank Natalie Barratt and her voters for helping us donate to our injured United States military veterans!
Find fitness you enjoy, and it will motivate you to continue lifelong. Hiking, swimming, running, weights, yoga, whatever. Also think "consistancy" over "perfection" for long term lasting results. Pick 1 or 2 small things to work on at a time, build it into your lifestyle, and then once mastered add new challenge.
Fitness has always been something I have used for my mental health... as someone who has struggled with anxiety, exercising has always helped me manage and relive stress. Fitness also helps me build self confidence. Being able to push my body to its limits during competitions, being able to tackle long hikes and runs, and keep up with my kids, just feeling fit and healthy year long is a wonderful feeling.
As a single parent I would be grateful to put that money into savings for my children, and pay off a little debt. I would also like to contribute back into my community as I have been blessed with some amazing people who have been kind, supportive and influential in my life, and I would love to be able to pay it forward.
