I love to LIFT THINGS UP AND PUT THEM DOWN; Sometimes it’s Wine, Often it’s Chocolate, But MAINLY it’s Weights!

Ms. Health and Fitness and Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors would like to thank Michelle Zarei and her voters for helping us donate to our injured United States military veterans!

What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

Creating the habit first & finding enjoyment in what you do is most important. Once you have that set, start working on making it a habit by focusing on self-discipline everyday with achievable goals. Start off small, with walking for 10 minutes or making an appointment with a trainer or a yoga class. Then simply focus on showing up, creating momentum and turning your “wants” into “MUSTS”! Instead of saying I want to get in shape. You now say I MUST GET IN SHAPE!

How does fitness positively influence your life?

I originally started working out to change my body. But along the way I began to care less and less about the “ideal” body image & started focusing on how much happier I felt when I trained. I noticed that any anxious energy was completely wiped after I worked out. Being healthy to me is keeping my mind, body and & heart happy; this is how I live my best life. I keep my body functioning like an athlete, & reward it too! Wine & chocolate are sure ways to my HEART!

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

I would use the money to pay off the loan I took when opening up my personal training studio. I feel so blessed to have my own space, but removing the stress of the loan would enable me to get ahead and focus solely on helping people. And with extra time I would get back to creating more free content online which I LOVE DOING SO MUCH!
