What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

We all sometimes doubt our abilities. If you say you don’t, you’re not being honest with yourself. My recommendation is ask yourself one question - “how bad do you want it”. We commit to many things in life, good and bad. Positive change takes commitment. 1. What are your goals? Find your goals in a picture and remind yourself daily. 2. Work. Work. Work. 3. Don’t give up.

How does fitness positively influence your life?

I grew up a competitive gymnast so fitness is in my blood. This outlet, starting at a young age, allowed me to cope with having drug addicted parents and keep me on the right path. Some tend to follow in their parents footsteps but for me, fitness was the reason I didn’t. Now, it’s what I live and breathe. It’s my passion.

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

A friend of mine has an adorable 21 month old son who was just diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). If I win, I will be donating 100% of the prize money to Joe Iverson and his wife to help with medical costs to help save his little boy’s life.
