Ms. Health and Fitness and Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors would like to thank Melissa Johnson and her voters for helping us donate to our injured United States military veterans!

What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

Love yourself by eating healthy, taking good care of your bodies. If you want something you have to work hard for it. Love yourself, stay true to yourself, you can be fit and healthy, it’s a choice. Choose to love you by working out and eating right and then just maintain it. You can do it! You have to make the effort to spend an hour or two per day, going to the gyms, walking, hiking, swimming, or whatever makes you happy. Strength, cardio, some kind of sport or physical activity.

How does fitness positively influence your life?

Fitness has always been a big part of my life. I have loved playing sports, since I was very young. I love to compete, it feels great, not only for my own success, but seeing others succeed as well. All the great people along the way that I’ve met, and at different schools, competitions, the challenges of being a better me each and everyday! I love how having great fitness, being well rounded makes a positive impact in my life and others see this and makes them want to do the same.

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

I would donate some to my mom whom is disabled, she was a nurse for 30years, and can no longer work. I would donate some to my dad whom was recently diagnosed with bladder cancer, and I would also, donate to YMCA (where I recently coached VOS club volleyball) to give under privileged kids that can not afford club sports, an opportunity for a better future. I want to positively make a difference, winning Ms. 2019 Health and Fitness, will not only change my life and future, but many others.
