What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

Get honest with yourself, plan and prepare! I can't stress enough the importance of preparation. And most of all, reach out for help if you need it. If you're stuck on how and where to begin, then hire a training or nutrition professional, or both, that can help you figure out what tools you will need and can help you with putting a plan in place. Then it's up to you to stay disciplined and realize that your health and happiness is a priority. Don't waste another minute.

How does fitness positively influence your life?

Fitness has a positive influence on my life in every aspect possible. Im a mother of two children who's little eyes and little ears are on me always. The thing I want to teach my kids the most is to take care of yourself and to help others. I'm very fortunate I've landed a position that I get to practice those two principles in my career. There was a time when things were tough and I was in some tough spots. Getting a hold of my health from the inside out has made me a better person and mother.

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

I believe in paying it forward so I would give some to a charity to help kids who are less fortunate. I would also put some away for my kids school savings. And I would put a little into fixing my home.
