Ms. Health and Fitness and Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors would like to thank Maria Cuaresma and her voters for helping us donate to our injured United States military veterans!

What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

It starts with a healthy mindset, setting goals which transpires into a healthy lifestyle change. Not just for you, but the people you care about. When you are healthy and fit, you radiate positivity and strength which inspires others to do the same and know anything is possible. Being healthy and fit allows us to endure through challenges in a more positive light. More importantly, it is gratifying to know you've inspired someone to make a difference in their own life.

How does fitness positively influence your life?

This journey called Life is filled with what I call the Lombard effect. In San Francisco, Lombard Street is a famous tourist attraction due to the architectural format of the street's unusual zigzag like formation. This parallel's to how fitness resonates positivity. No matter how challenging it is to drive Lombard or get that last rep in, it requires patience, love, and dedication. When you reach the end of Lombard or complete the workout, you look back and appreciate the journey.

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

First and foremost, be grateful for the opportunity to represent the bible of all fitness publications, Ms. Health and Fitness. The money which is an awesome perk would be distributed in a few ways. A donation to Special Olympics which I hold dear to my heart because of their tireless efforts to allow and inspire athletes of all abilities to compete and perform in all kinds of sports including my awesome oldest son who has Autism. Kid's college education, and a goal to create a documentary.
