Ms. Health and Fitness and Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors would like to thank Lisa Walton and her voters for helping us donate to our injured United States military veterans!

What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

Fad diets & trendy insta workouts won’t lead to sustainable results. You need to make the decision for yourself to change your lifestyle. Health & fitness is something you invest in to support yourself to lead a happy and fulfilled life. The healthier you are, the more equipped you are to deal with life’s challenges. New habits are always difficult to stick to at the beginning. Keep your goals in sight, maintain your discipline and be consistent.

How does fitness positively influence your life?

Fitness has transformed my body- I’ve never been stronger! However, the effects of exercise and a healthy lifestyle on my mental and emotional state are immeasurable. I’ve suffered from depression and anxiety since puberty and I’ve found fitness to be an essential tool to managing these illnesses. After leaving an unhappy marriage with a baby and a toddler in tow, fitness become my crutch and seriously helped me get through the tough times.

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

If I were to be honoured with the title, I would pay off my student debts and take my kids and myself on a much needed holiday! They’ve never been on a holiday & I haven’t had one in 6 years.
