I recommend finding an activity that you love, and do that. Make simple, sustainable changes to your diet. If you hate a workout program or diet, you won't follow it. Realize that health and fitness isn't one size fits all. Not everyone likes to lift weights or run, and that's ok. A healthy diet doesn't mean chicken and broccoli!
It keeps me mentally focused. It keeps me on track to set a good example for my kids, who are also athletes. It makes me feel accomplished and proud of myself.
I would buy my kids all their equipment for their sports. And maybe a new competition suit for myself!
