What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

I firmly believe that fitness is a journey which is unique for every individual. Anytime I’m approached by someone about living a healthy lifestyle, I ask the question - ‘why do you want to be fit/healthy?’ Understanding the ‘why’ helps you in those moments to where the journey gets hard. How does fitness positively influence your life?

Fitness and health have saved my life “literally”. In 2016, my lungs collapsed which resulted in me being in a comma for nine days and having to learn to walk again. If it wasn’t for prayer and me being physically fit and healthy, my recovery time would have been a lot longer. I utilize ‘fitness’ as it is my therapy. It makes me feel strong inside, empowered – pretty much a female superhero!

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

Honestly, there are several things I would do. First, tithe a portion. Second, send my parents on a vacation! I’ve been extremely blessed with amazing parents, and they have done so much for me. Third, I would use some of the money to help me launch my next business concept. Fourth, save a portion of it and pay off any debt I have to be financially free! Lastly, go on a relaxing vacation – can’t forget about self-care.
