What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

Start small, aim big, build your habits. Consistency is so important as health/fitness doesn't happen overnight. Being patient yourself is the best advice to set yourself up for success. Doing this will not only ensure results, but will become a lifestyle rather than a short-term fix. Wake up an hour earlier & get a training session in, think of diet choices as fuel for your body. Always remember to keep striving for the best version of you, you deserve to feel strong! Keep showing up.

How does fitness positively influence your life?

Fitness has allowed me to gain many levels of strength, beyond just physical abilities. It is not something that just 'gets you in shape,', but creates opportunity to always put your best effort into all that you do. It has taught me that I am more capable than I think I am, and has given me a constant inner fire to want to reach for more, both in my fitness habits, and lifestyle. What's more, it also made me want to share those benefits & inspire others who want to create better habits.

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

If given the opportunity to be the next Ms. Health and Fitness, I would pursue my goal in becoming a personal trainer/fitness instructor, & find ways to bring health/fitness experiences to my elementary school students. Professionally, I am a teacher in a school with socio-economically disadvantaged kids. It would be my hope to find programs or opportunities to infuse more experiences into their lives to teach healthier lifestyles/activities that they otherwise may not get exposed to.
