If you want to get fit and be healthy, I would simply recommend that you start out by increasing your activity level however you can. Whether that’s simply walking a little bit more at work, taking a little extra time to be active with your kids, or even just playing catch with your pet - increasing your activity level can go a long way to setting you up for a “lifestyle” of success!
Fitness has positively influenced my life in so many ways, but the most important one is that it allowed me to be successful in my military career. My personal fitness taught me to never give up and to set the example for others to be the best that they can be. Now as a personal trainer, my primary goal is to work with current, former, and future service members to ensure that they become physically fit, confident in themselves, and learn how to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
If I were the next Ms Health and Fitness, I would donate my winnings to War Horses for Veterans - an organization that provides equine therapy to combat vets - and the Armed Services branches of the YMCA. Our service members/veterans make up a small but mighty percentage of our population and have sacrificed so much for this country! I want to make sure that we take care of them in return!
