What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

Everything we do starts with giving ourselves that yes! If you want it, don’t wait, do it now! Be mindful that fitness is for life! Just the same as anything, you have to find what works for you. Try different lifestyle diets, i.e., Paleo, vegetarianism, etc. No fad diets as a lifestyle, i.e. intermittent fasting, detox teas etc. It’s ok temporarily, but unsustainable long term. How does fitness positively influence your life?

My workout schedule informs everything else I do during the day because it’s so important to me. I love being fit and feeling healthy. It makes me feel confident and beautiful. Having successes in the gym, like making it through a tough workout or reaching a new PB (personal best) on the track informs me of the reality of the successes I can enjoy in life. I know I can accomplish anything because I conquered my health.

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

Partner with the boys and girls club and other organizations to create a program that would take children, especially girls 8-11 and even older on monthly field trips to experience different fitness activities. Things like indoor rock climbing, & aerial yoga. Kids need to know that fitness is fun and for them even if they don’t play sports.
