I would recommend starting with a realistic goal, drinking a gallon of water, eating small healthy snacks throughout the day, stop drinking soda or walk three times a week at your local park. Doing anything "cold turkey" can be extremely intimidating and hard to follow through with; so by taking small steps to reach your goal it turns into a big victory. Fitness has allowed me to meet so many influential people who are making an impact in their own community through inner city weight lifting and education on eating healthy. Fitness has allowed me to put into action my passion for helping others in need of change not just in their family/work and social life, but understanding that their own personal health/ wellness needs are just as important to take care of as well as major key factor that effects everything else around them.
If I was the next Ms. Health and Fitness, I would use the $20,000 to invest in a Health and Wellness program that supports the fitness community at all stages of their journey. I want to start up a website that illustrates fitness isn't just for the body but for the mind. The website will have a place for blogging, chat rooms for lessons, successes and questions. As well as links to experts on diets, meditation, self love and workouts!
