Ms. Health and Fitness and Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors would like to thank Kerryne Henich and her voters for helping us donate to our injured United States military veterans!

What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

I love it! Set realistic goals, knock them out of the park, and then keep on going! Having goals to work towards (small stepping stones) keeps you excited and it keeps you motivated. Before you know it you have achieved things you never thought possible. Remember nothing happens overnight. Results take time, patience and consistency! Ask someone you trust to check in with you weekly. Hire a trainer, or a coach to hold you accountable!

How does fitness positively influence your life?

I truly believe it saved my life. Fitness has made me mentally strong, not just physically strong. I was in a dark place and through fitness I have found peace, a love for myself, confidence, strength and courage to be who I am. It is a true blessing to connect with other women through fitness, hear their stories and learn from them as well. We are connected on a different level!

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

Anyone who competes knows how expensive it is. I spend $15-$20K a year on competing! I would put that straight towards my Fitness Competition season to fund my travel expenses for my upcoming shows as I work towards getting on that Olympia stage once again!!
