What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

I would recommend others who want to be fit and healthy to trust the process and accept a journey. Know that it doesn’t happen over night and your body amazingly adapts. It takes time to re-wire and re-build your body (and mind). Take nutrition just as serious as physical fitness. They both work together to give you results. I would also recommend a coach or plans to guide you on your new journey and lifestyle. Remember, you can’t make changes using the same knowledge.

How does fitness positively influence your life?

Fitness has positively changed my whole being and existence. I now have the energy to keep up with 5 kids, work as an SLP and run a business. I began this journey not only to become physically fit, but to also to re-train my mind. I believe we operate on a 3-part system: mind, body, spirit. So, for me, a healthy and fit lifestyle gives me balance and health in my total being. I know that I have re-wired and re-built my body, mind and spirit.

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

It is my desire, passion and I truly feel my purpose as well, to help others around me to start their own health and fitness journey. But, you need the tools to do so. You can’t start on this journey without the knowledge of how to choose healthy food options or how to workout to get results. I would love to put this money into my community to establish a plan and activate a health and fitness program.
