Ms. Health and Fitness and Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors would like to thank Katie Lovelace Baldridge and her voters for helping us donate to our injured United States military veterans!

What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

Don't wait for the perfect time to start a health and fitness journey--do it today! Set one achievable goal per week, and execute whether it's drinking more water, eating more fresh vegetables, or taking a walk during lunch. Small efforts add up to big changes. Don't make the journey alone either. Recruiting a friend to participate or hiring a trainer can provide tremendous accountability and support.

How does fitness positively influence your life?

I am a Certified Personal Trainer and Registered Dietitian, so you could say that fitness is my life--literally! I eat, breathe, and sweat this lifestyle everyday. Training has fortified my health against the diseases of modern life, and by making my body and mind stronger I have developed an overwhelming sense of appreciation and positivity toward my own physical self. Additionally, I enjoy increased energy to sail through long days and am almost completely pain free. I live my passion daily.

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

Friends and colleagues describe me as meticulous in my approach to most areas of life, so when asked how I would use $20,000, my immediate thought is to save or invest the amount until an obvious use or need arises. Ideally I would use the money to pay for more costly continuing education such as entry to live seminars, university level courses, or additional certifications with the purpose of providing high value coaching and training to my clients.
