What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

I know this is cliché and I’ve wanted to throat punch people for saying it to me but you really have to “trust the process”. All you have to do is start. Start somewhere, little by little it gets easier and becomes everyday life. Ask questions, there are never dumb questions. If someone makes you feel dumb for what you are trying to learn, then you didn’t want them around anyway.

How does fitness positively influence your life?

Fitness influences me by always striving to be better than I was yesterday. It teaches myself and my kids that hard work pays off. Teaches us consistency and discipline. I get messages all the time from other woman, that say “I’ve been watching you for a long time and you inspire me.” Thats what is about. I have been through many hardships, since childhood. If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

Again, I know it’s cliche but I would definitely donote to a local charity called JOPPA outreach. It’s my duty as a mother to teach my kids that you always help the less fortunate, even when you feel you are. Then I would use the rest towards bringing my own company, ‘Power Up Coffee and Juice Bar’, to life. Empowering others choose healthier options, while impacting the community.
