Consistency, consistency, consistency! And also finding a sustainable approach. If you go too extreme you won’t be able to keep up with it. I also think training for functionality is super important. You need to be good at life above all else. Food is also key. The closer you eat to nature the better off you’ll be in many regards. If it had a mother came from the ground you’re pretty much safe. If it’s packaged and has ingredients you can’t pronounce, stay away.
When I train I’m at my best both physically but more importantly mentally. Just a couple days away from training and I can feel a difference in my confidence and body image. When I train consistently and eat good food I have more energy for my family and friends and tend to be in a better mood overall.
Run away to Hawaii?!?! Just joking. I would love to develop a program for my high school students, specifically the girls, to teach them them weight training so they weren’t afraid of venturing off the cardio equipment and into the “scary” weight room. Then I would actually put some away for college for my kids/ retirement for my husband and I.
