Ms. Health and Fitness and Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors would like to thank Julie Richardson and her voters for helping us donate to our injured United States military veterans!

What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

I would tell them to first find activities and foods that they enjoy and find ways to incorporate them into their life. Becoming a healthier you should be a long term goal and not a quick fix. If you dread the workouts you do or foods that you eat, then you are more likely to give up. There are ways to make your favorite foods work into your diet and there are thousands of different exercises out there. Find what works for you and enjoy your life!

How does fitness positively influence your life?

It allows me ways to challenge myself on a daily basis. Being able to conquer my mind and push past my limits when my body wants to quit makes me feel unstoppable. Fitness has changed my life for the better by making my mind, body, and soul stronger and more powerful. It is my goal to spread the goodness of fitness to the world and show them how it is about so much more than looking good. Fitness has the ability to completely transform your life and ensure that you live a long, fulfilled life.

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

I would use the money as a down payment for opening my own gym. Having my own gym has been a lifelong dream of mine and I want to share my health and fitness expertise with people to show them how to reach their full potential.
