What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

Do something daily. Eat what you should not what you want. Move, be an example for your family. Healthy mind, Healthy body and healthy spirit. When your working on your health it puts your mind, body and spirit in a better place. It makes you a better person, wife and mother. I started doing aerial silks training at age 40. Don't be afraid to try something new and exciting. Life is short - Be the best version of yourself that you can be.

How does fitness positively influence your life?

It gives me confidence in everything I do. I want my outside to reflect the way I feel on the inside. It's not about vanity. It's about liking and loving yourself enough to look after your body. I'm not perfect with training or eating but when I don't make it too the gym or eat exactly what I should- I don't allow myself feel guilty about it. Move on and do better. I train for me. I compete with myself. I want to encourage other women my age and older.

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

I would donate most of the winnings to local charities I’m affiliated with.
