Jessica

I am unique. I suffered cancer & a syndrome so rare doctors barely understand it! My passion for fitness became a necessity not a choice

Ms. Health and Fitness and Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors would like to thank Jessica and her voters for helping us donate to our injured United States military veterans!

What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

You only have one body to take care of for the rest of your life; Treat it well! Dig deep and find your motivation. Schedule your workouts on your calendar. This process helps remove excuses. The time to be ambitious is now, not tomorrow, not next week, or next month. Taking care of yourself should be number one. When you take care of yourself, you're going to feel better about yourself. You will learn to love yourself more, and you're going to be happier. Being happier means being healthier!

How does fitness positively influence your life?

After being diagnosed with a rare autoinflammatory disease ( 1 in a million) and stage 3 breast cancer, I chose to introduce my body to fitness, to eat better, and to focus on feeling better. Fitness is my escape and has been a life changing experience. If I didn't take care of my body, I most likely would not be alive today. I had many surgeries. Fitness has played an essential role in healing and managing inflammation stemming from my rare disease! For me, the answer, FORWARD!

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

I'm writing an autobiography to help and inspire millions around the world. I'm writing a second book exclusive to rare disease challenges. My goal is to significantly improve patients lives, overcome fear associated with rare diseases, and understand the importance of healing through a healthier lifestyle. I would pay my agent and design my other website dedicated to unique disease market and research. My goal is to visit with rare disease organizations and European advocacy groups.
