Ms. Health and Fitness and Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors would like to thank Jacquelyn Rodgers and her voters for helping us donate to our injured United States military veterans!

What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

Consistency is key. Small changes can contribute to a better lifestyle and taking it one day at a time will start to encourage better habits and long-term goals! I myself have witnessed many positive changes in my fitness levels since I went to a plant based diet. I recover much faster, I have way more energy, and I never deal with digestive issues that get in the way of my workouts! Another huge component in staying fit and healthy is getting regular sleep. I love my sleep.

How does fitness positively influence your life?

I haven’t always been healthy. I smoked, drank and partied a lot in my teens and 20’s. I turned my life around one step at a time and started feeling better and better as time went on. Staying fit and healthy gives me the opportunity to do whatever I want in life. Building up physical strength and exercising frequently is one of the most efficient ways of creating self-confidence. This past year I started Jiu Jitsu which has been an amazing experience and I qualified to run Boston!

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

I would definitely donate some of the money to stop animal cruelty. I have been eating a plant based diet for 2 years now and it has changed my life on so many levels. I would also like to have a big party to celebrate my clients who inspire me everyday to get up and continue to do what I do. The rest is going for a trip to Europe for my husband and I who LOVE to travel! Next on my list is either Machu Picchu, Spain or Thailand! 💛
