Ms. Health and Fitness and Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors would like to thank Hillery Dennies and her voters for helping us donate to our injured United States military veterans!

What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

The biggest tips I’d recommend to others is to be patient, consistent, and find your passion. A healthy lifestyle takes time, effort, commitment, and it takes a few trials and errors. Sticking to a plan and keeping a positive attitude is key. In the long run, you will learn to love yourself and it won't matter how long it took for you to get there. Find out what you love when it comes to keeping healthy and active, then stay the course.

How does fitness positively influence your life?

Fitness is key for me living a fulfilled life. Being involved in a healthy and fit lifestyle has allowed me to meet some really great people- athletes, coaches, and fellow competitors. I have had the opportunity to visit new cities, hike mountains, and get out on some amazing adventures because of my travels related to staying active. Fitness has challenged me as a volunteer firefighter, a former collegiate athlete, and now a PRO figure bodybuilder. I just love where it has taken me!

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

I would first take care of some of my student debt. The winnings would help tackle some of that burden as my husband and I are in the works to purchase our first home together. The prize money would help us feel more than comfortable with taking that next step in our lives. I would also use the winnings and make a donation to the Firefighters Charitable Foundation, where their mission is to help victims of fire disasters and support local fire departments.
