JUST GET STARTED! There will never be a "perfect" time, so that means ANY moment is yours for the taking! Set small goals and build on them. Reach out to a trainer or a nutritionist or both--do your research and find someone you trust. Also, tell EVERYONE your goals! When I chose to change my life I held myself accountable by telling all my friends and family about my plan to eat well and hit the gym 6 days a week. Lastly, never change for anyone but YOU.
Fitness elevates every single facet of my life. Prioritizing my nutrition and my workouts allows me to be a better Health Care Provider, a better partner, a better trainer, a better business owner, and a better friend to others because I have the ENERGY to invest in the things and people I love. Reaching my fitness goals--especially the goal of becoming a fitness competitor--reinforced the idea that I am capable of anything I set my mind to. I show up as my best always.
If I were to become the next Ms. Health and Fitness, I would use $20,000 in a couple of ways. I would donate a portion of this to Girls on the Run, because I think this organization does amazing things to build confidence in and promote health in young girls. I would also use this money to help grow my own training and nutrition business--Root Power Nutrition-- to help busy professional women prioritize their health. EVERY individual deserves to experience their best quality of life!
