Start lifting weights and don’t be afraid to lift heavy (as long as you have good form and are doing it safely). It does so much for our bodies, it increases bone density (which we need, especially when we get older) and it is the most underutilized form of therapy.
Fitness has impacted and influenced my life in so many ways (and still does)! I feel better as a whole. It has helped me grow physically, emotionally, and mentally. I used to be anorexic and struggled with body dysmorphia, lifting weights and competing in Strongman has changed all of that for me. I still struggle with slight body dysmorphia but coming into the gym and giving it everything I have helps combat it. Fitness has also allowed me to find my passion and help empower others!
If I were to be selected to be the next Ms Health and Fitness, I would use the $20,000 to go towards opening up another location for my gym :)
