What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

Start now! First, think about your ultimate goal... then create smaller attainable goals, milestones if you will, that will keep you accountable and motivated. Next, find out what not only works for you, but what can you stick to (both diet and exercise). There are so many methods out there- health and fitness is not a “one size fits all!” Finally, surround yourself with people who support you! Remember, positivity breeds success! Be patient and enjoy the process!

How does fitness positively influence your life?

Fitness has given me more confidence, a better quality of life, and a platform to share my weight loss journey. Fitness was a big part of my life when I was younger as I was involved in sports; somewhere along the way I lost my drive and discipline. I got up to 250 lbs and I was miserable! I began my journey with a goal in mind, and in a year I lost 110 lbs. I am now a women’s physique competitor! I love watching my physique change and progress each year, but I love helping others even mor

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

I would love to be able to use this money to create more readily available youth programs (athletics, after school sports, summer boot camps, strength and conditioning camps, etc.). Being “fit and healthy” begins with creating healthy habits and opportunities to be active for our youth!
