There is no magic pill or miracle fad diet that can be sustained long term. Gradually adopt healthy lifestyle habits that can realistically be sustained for life. The basic blueprint to those habits is a triad of balanced and healthful nutrition, which includes adequate hydration, regular exercise and adequate sleep. Be mindful and focus on gradually incorporating these habits into your life, and before you know it, you're doing them and you start to feel better physically and emotionally.
During midlife, I suddenly gained 30 pounds, and I didn't like how I looked or felt. For the first time in my life, I had to think about exercising and healthful eating. I lost the weight, gained some muscle, and learned a lot from 2 very inspiring role models. I look younger and better than before. I have more energy, strength and stamina, and I feel more confident and capable. My success and the positive influence of my role models inspired me to go for my personal trainer certification.
