What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

Don’t be so hard on yourself. Push yourself, but don’t give up because of the hard times. That’s life. If you really want it, put the work in. I promise you that the hustle will breath life into your drive, your motivation and your desire for more. Every opportunity to better yourself and educate yourself about your health, TAKE. Don’t let anyone turn your sky into a ceiling because anything is possible. You CAN live the life you want, you have to create it and envision

How does fitness positively influence your life?

Fitness gives me an outlet. Fitness reminds me how incredible the body truly is. I’m living proof of the durability of the human body. Eight years ago a car accident left me with screws, wires and plates in my hip and lower leg. I am stronger today than I was before my 3 surgeries. My injuries have taught me that setbacks only happen for an even stronger comeback. The climb is most rewarding when you get to the top, but knowing that there’s always more to see, I keep going.

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

I would use the winning money to take my family on a vacation. My parents had to financially, physically and emotionally support me after my car accident. I could not walk for 6 months. I’m still dealing with the effects of this setback and my fiancée has been so supportive. I would definitely want to do something special for them. I graduated from acupuncture school last year, and let me tell you that wasn’t cheap. I would throw whatever’s left toward my student loans
