Ms. Health and Fitness and Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors would like to thank Bekah Reed and her voters for helping us donate to our injured United States military veterans!

What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

To stop making excuses. You can always find an excuse or an obstacle to prevent you from getting in your workouts or eating healthy. But you would be surprised at how hard you can push yourself and how committed you can be if you put your mind to it. Whether your goal is to live a healthier lifestyle or push extreme levels of fitness, write out your goals, set deadlines for yourself, get ACCOUNTABILITY, and determine in your mind to not make excuses and to keep pushing.

How does fitness positively influence your life?

God gave us these bodies and fitness allows us to take care of it and keep it healthy. Further more, fitness and bodybuilding has taught me how to be disciplined and how to push myself. On the treadmill or in my sets, I literally talk to myself saying to "stay focused" or "keep pushing." It's the same with any life situation, when things get tough I dial in, stay focused, keep pushing. I want to look back at every workout and in life and be able to say that I gave it my best

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

My family is involved with a Christian organization in San Diego called Bridge of Hope. It helps refugee families transition to life in California through offering tutoring services, organizing food distributions, and providing necessary household items/clothes. I would use a portion of the money to start a program to teach young girls and woman about nutrition and exercise. I would also use a portion of the money so that I could continue to compete future bikini competitions.
