What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

There is never a right or wrong time to start! Starting a new journey is tough for everyone, the real challenge is sticking to your goals. Find a way to keep yourself accountable. Take pictures of your progress, and share that process with a friend or your social media—you’d be surprised by how much support is out there for you to reach your goal!

How does fitness positively influence your life?

Depression and anxiety plague much of our population. I have found that getting my heart rate up, and pushing through a challenging workout creates a better mindset for me. I couldn’t wait to turn this into a career of helping others battling the same issue.

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

If I were to be named Ms Health and Fitness, I would allocate $20,000 towards funding after school programs to promote fitness and athletic training for youth in at-risk communities. Promoting the health of the next generation can mediate social and economic issues of the future. “We are one”—and we can unite through fitness.
