Ms. Health and Fitness and Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors would like to thank Amber Fessette and her voters for helping us donate to our injured United States military veterans!
First I would recommend to START. Start getting in a routine, even if you don't have much time, a 20min workout is better than no workout. Diets can be helpful to jump-start your fitness journey, but I do think that making smaller changes over time makes fitness and eating healthy more sustainable. I would also recommend finding a friend, trainer, fitness group etc. to help keep you accountable. It is much easier to live a fit and healthy lifestyle if you are around other people who do.
Fitness positively influences my life in almost EVERY way! When you look good you feel good and become more confident in all other aspects of your life. In medicine, one of the things I specialize in is neuro health. Fitness helps me de-stress, makes me a happier person, and keeps my mental health strong. I am also a competitive person so fitness helps me utilize that outlet. Nutrition has far been the biggest challenge for me, but one that has been the most rewarding.
I would use it to either help pay for my NP degree or towards my business I am in the process of opening, AFit Aesthetics. I absolutely love preventative health and medicine. I am starting out in the aesthetic industry with face care treatments, but plan on expanding into hormone replacement therapy and other preventative health treatments such as IV therapy, vitamin shots, etc. Medications are sometimes necessary, but I truly feel that there are more effective natural ways to help people heal.
