Ms. Health and Fitness and Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors would like to thank Amanda Wright and her voters for helping us donate to our injured United States military veterans!

What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

Your body is made in the kitchen! Yes exercise contributes a portion but it you don’t fuel yourself with the optimum nutrients it craves after a hard day in the office or 1 hour lift session, results are near impossible to find! No one is 100% perfect and we ALL deserve to live a little, so breaking out your chocolate stash every once in a while is perfectly fine! Just stay true to yourself and your goals and your body will take you places you can’t even begin to imagine!

How does fitness positively influence your life?

I got a concussion from lacrosse 7 years ago. Ever since, I have suffered from chronic migraines daily. Exercise is one of the only things that alleviates my pain! Weird right? Maybe it’s blood flow? It also helps me prove to myself that I AM WORTH IT. I am no longer this weak, scrawny girl feeling helpless all the time because of her chronic pain from both my migraines and my hip labral surgeries last year. I am POWERFUL, STRONG and can lift more than most guys on my cross country team!

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

Ever since I was a little girl, I have put others ahead of myself. But this time, I’m gonna put me first and use the money to further my academic journey in nursing! I am not the most jacked or fit girl in this competition but I want to stand tall for all the injured women out there! We all have to start from somewhere. After hitting rock bottom with both hip surgeries, I am building myself up. Yes it is a slow process ,but well worth it in the end!
