What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

Find something that’s sustainable, from the exercise aspect to the nutrition. If you can make fitness a part of your lifestyle, you have a much greater likelihood of enjoying success. Being a mom, I feel compelled to set a healthy example. My kiddos don’t really know any differently- eating good food 80% of the time, being active more often than not, and enjoying treats because that’s part of a well-rounded life...being fit and healthy isn’t a chore, it’s habit!

How does fitness positively influence your life?

Fitness has been such a positive in my life for countless reasons. Early on, I learned hard work, perseverance and consistency were essential to success. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned how to listen to my body; I know when to push and when to back off. After nearly dying during the birth of my second child, my perspective really shifted...being unable to do everything I had taken for granted made me appreciate every chance I have to exercise, be active with my kids, dance...

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

Oh goodness...if I were to win, I would properly outfit my home gym space to accommodate all the cool stuff my family does. And here’s a weird one... I’d apply to compete in the Arnold Australia competition and pay for the whole family to fly over if I made the cut:-). It’s fun to dream! I’d really like to put some of the money towards some new equipment for the dance studio. I’m so proud to teach where I used to take lessons as a kid. I’d love to give back
