Ms. Health and Fitness and Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors would like to thank Adri Luna and her voters for helping us donate to our injured United States military veterans!

What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

Be selfish a little bit. I didn’t fully commit to this journey until I decided that I was important too—and I am. You are too. Set goals that push your limits emotionally, mentally, and physically. I’m currently training for my first competition July 20 in LA, at 32 years as a single mother. Anything is only possible if you’re willing to do the work. It is not easy, but it will be very rewarding. Also, you’re going to like the way you look—so it’s a win

How does fitness positively influence your life?

Fitness is the mainstay of my life. It became that way when I needed something to ground me. Waking up everyday to exercise first helped me establish a routine supported by healthy habits. I wanted to create a life that’d be successful, even if I left it in auto pilot.

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

$20k is a good initial investment for a business venture that can impact the world positively. Or it can be one wild shopping spree. Tough call—but not really. Domestic violence awareness and intimate partner violence education along with mental health awareness and support are huge areas of focus for me due to my life experiences. The money would be used to fund organizations that support those same goals and mission.
