What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

Consistency with your daily goals will help you achieve your overall goal to become fit and healthy. Establishing the discipline early on will help overcome any obstacles that you may face. Having a support group of family or coworkers that have similars goals helps also. But when they aren’t around you need to have that self accountability learned from self discipline and consistency. You are in control of your actions and decisions!

How does fitness positively influence your life?

Being a law enforcement officer exposed to adverse situations and also a person who is in the community a lot it is important to maintain a high level of fitness not only for job duty but representation of what someone expects. I’ve been able to influence others by leading by example on and off duty. Being in good physical condition helps me be positive and handle daily tasks with a great attitude and improves the quality of my life.

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

I would like to do a remodel of our current exercise room at our Sheriff’s office to provide deputies and staff a place they can improve their fitness without the expense of a gym memebership. I believe it would motivate more of my coworkers to improve their health and job performance that the people we serve rely on.
