Start simple and never guilt yourself! Remember that you're building habits for life and not just swimsuit season. I always advise clients to start simple - cut down on dairy intake. For workouts when building your routine, don't go more than 2 days in a row without sweating. These little tricks help build lifelong habits! Also, set and do not neglect your broad goals. Encourage yourself and embrace all the things you currently love about yourself, both physical and characteristically!How does fitness positively influence your life?
Fitness has allowed me to develop routines that I can sustain no matter what was going on in my life. I have developed self-confidence in my physique AND in my mental and emotional health through my commitment and drive to better myself daily. Like many, the gym has provided a type of therapy. Once I began throwing myself into it, I have been able to grow with the online fitness community. I now have the opportunity to speak about and share my experience with depression and self growth!If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?
I would publish a fitness and mental health goal journal that I have working on for the past year. Through my experience dealing with and coming through depression, and all of the tools I've learned and developed during that journey, I am seeking to help others who are looking to set goals and kick negative and debilitating habits! I would also be able to hold fitness events for beginners, first responders, veterans, and others here in Denver, CO to help them on their health journeys!
