What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

Find a discipline you connect with! I have run marathons, done savage races, oly lifted, yoga, etc. and finally found my lane with CrossFit (functional fitness). There are many quality gyms and programs but if it doesn’t inspire you and challenge you then most likely you won’t stay with it. It’s healthy to be well rounded in many genres. Also, understand that dieting and mental wellness are a big part of an overall wellness plan. Health is a lifestyle not a trend.

How does fitness positively influence your life?

I live the “age is just a number” cliche. About to turn 40 but am in the best shape of my life. I want to inspire my kids, my friends and others but just as important I want to feel good about me. Training for longevity is an important lesson to teach our children, family, friends and those you wish inspire. As an owner of a CrossFit Box, I have an opportunity to interact and positively influence so many others which in turn motivates me even more.

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

I am a small business owner barely one year out of startup so haven’t had much discretionary income lately. After waking up from passing out I think I would go to a spa, get my hair colored, and online shop for more workout clothes I don’t need. In all seriousness, would invest in new equipment for the gym. It’s my passion and we have an amazing family that we love encouraging and supporting.
