What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

Health and fitness is not "one size fits all." To truly achieve a level of health that is maintainable, it is important to do things you love and make sure that you try to enjoy all steps of the journey. Health and fitness is not just about your physical health. It is also about your mental well being- so finding every day balance is essential! Make healthy food that you love. Do healthy activities that you love. Speak to yourself WITH love and you will succeed! Be Happy. Be Fit. Be

How does fitness positively influence your life?

Fitness and martial arts has changed my life. It has saved my life. Growing up, I was not active and I had no understanding of what being healthy meant. Before I got into fitness, like most women, I had weight issues, disordered eating, and severe body image issues. Finding fitness was amazing, but finding Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was a Godsend. As a BJJ athlete and instructor, I have learned how to REALLY love myself and body for all that it is capable of! I learned how strong I really am!

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

I believe that martial arts and self defense is something that EVERY person- especially women- needs to know. My goal with this campaign is to bring light to women's Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and the positive effects it has for so many women! If I were to win, I would use the money to create opportunities to teach more self defense and open the doors for more women to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu!
