Ms. Health and Fitness and Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors would like to thank Megan McCloskey and her voters for helping us donate $179,724.93 to our injured United States military veterans!

What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

My best advice would be to recreate the way you look at getting fit and staying fit. It’s not something you have to do, it’s something you get to do. I also believe in embracing the mindset that you are doing this because you love your body, not because you hate it. I want to treat my body well, give it good real foods, to move it, stretch it, and make it stronger every day. I firmly believe our mindset always determines our success, so dive into it whole heartedly and positively.

How does fitness positively influence your life?

Fitness has changed my life entirely. The gym has always been my therapy, there is nothing I love more than putting my headphones on and getting in the zone at the gym and shutting off my mind. It has given me a sense of purpose and direction, and has shown me my true strength and potential. It also has given me the opportunity to help other women which is something I feel I was born to do. Having people tell you you’ve inspired them to make a healthy change is an incredible feeling.

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

I would put the prize money towards continuing to build my business in hopes of reaching, inspiring and helping others take charge of their health and join me in living a fit and active lifestyle.
