Q&A

What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

Take it one day at a time. Learn to love yourself through any journey you go through. Being fit and healthy is not a fade, it truly is a LIFESTYLE. Surround yourself with people that will support you, people that want to see you succeed, keep you accountable and motivate you. Take small steps that will eventually lead you to that big goal you have for the future. Most importantly, HAVE FUN and enjoy the process.

How does fitness positively influence your life?

I have battled depression, anxiety, drugs, anger, just a negative mindset for many years. I hit rock bottom 4 years ago and became overweight and empty. I used fitness as a tool to help me not only lose weight but to be a better person overall to my children, my husband, and those around me. I have learned to choose ME first and love me with all my perfect imperfections. Years later, I have lost over 60lbs, I am a figure competitor, and I AM HEALTHY and off all medications and no negativity..

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

With $20,000, I would use part of it to help start up my own fitness and health business with a concentration on helping wounded veterans and cancer patients. My husband and many friends are wounded warriors, I would like to be able to teach them how to live a close to normal life as possible with fitness. My mother was diagnosed w/ breast cancer & I've seen the struggle it has been on a day to day basis and would like to help others be able to use fitness to help get through this battle.
